My analysis of the Anaklia Deep Sea Port controversy was cited in OC Media, the leading independent outlet covering the South Caucasus. The October 2021 piece by Shota Kincha examines revelations from the Pandora Papers suggesting that Georgian Dream founder Bidzina Ivanishvili held hidden interests in a rival port project in Poti — raising questions about why the government pulled its contract with the Anaklia Development Consortium. I argued that no reputable investor would enter a new tender while the arbitration dispute remained unresolved, and that the situation was “doubtless damaging both Georgia’s image and reputation, and creating a positive environment for Russia to achieve its own interests.”
